Live Like No One Cares About You

You’re an introvert. You prefer to keep to yourself most of the time. You are at your best when you work alone and in silence. If you are around others for too long, you tend to feel drained and lose focus. Unfortunately, society is extroverted. You are required to learn how to interact with people on a regular basis if you wish to benefit from society.

The problem most people have isn’t that they can interact with society, but that they become dependent on others to take care of them. An introverted person simply cannot afford to give too many people power over their own lives. People tend to just do what they’re supposed to do and not much else. In order to live the most effective solitary lifestyle, you will have to cut your dependency on others from your mentality.

The solution I present is to live like no one cares about you. Objectively speaking, there will always be people in your life that care about you no matter how you may feel about others. You will always have at least one person that knows who you are unless you live in the woods or under a rock.

That’s not the point. The point is to become more self-reliant. If you’re not taking care of yourself, no one else will. If you live like you’re all by yourself and have to watch your every move carefully, you’re not being paranoid. You’re being responsible. Being responsible simply means always having your own layers of security in life for every situation possible. Layers of security in your life will mitigate numerous problems or at least make them more manageable to deal with if you ever find yourself in a situation beyond your control.

When you develop a mindset of being truly on your own, you understand the importance of the decisions you make. You understand the value of your time. The more you waste, the less you get done. Living like you have no one in your life forces you to understand that taking care of yourself isn’t a chore. It’s a lifestyle choice. Being dependent on others means you will lose your time dealing with others which will drain your mind and energy. You will lose time getting small gains instead of achieving large-scale goals for yourself because you gave your power over yourself to someone else.

More often than not, if you have this mentality about life, you’re usually not too disappointed when someone displays selfish behavior towards you. You don’t take other people’s selfishness too personally because you had plans in place to take care of yourself if they engage in dishonest behavior. Looking out for yourself as an introvert should not be treated as profound wisdom, but as basic habits because living as if you’re on your own is nothing more than mental independence. Unfortunately, too many people don’t have an independent mindset, so they never have solutions in place when things go wrong.

That’s all I have for this week. Feel free to comment with any thoughts you have on the subject and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Until the next daydream……..
